Inspired by 1974 and 1985 documentary films ‘Shocking Asia’, I was always more interested in exploration/photography of the Asian continent than any other. I was not looking to experience “not for the faint of heart” bizarre rituals… The fascinating culture of Far East, its charming people, and wonderful food pulled me like a magnet. Within last two years I visited Thailand, Cambodia, and India. The experience was so great that this year I went back to Southeast Asia and visited Vietnam and Laos. I have taken more than 3,000 photos and can’t wait to share some of them here at Memographer.com. Not all of the photos will be “shocking”, but, I hope that all of them will be interesting to you. Please subscribe for the updates, and together we will go on my 2012 Shocking Asia journey.

These photos are truly amazing, when I travelled to Vietnam back in 2009 it was before I purchased my SLR and I am desperate to go back and capture the essence of Vietnam photographically! Belle

Thanks, Belle! Definitely, you need to revisit Vietnam. Especially, if photography is your passion. The World looks different when you looked at it through your lens.

I still don’t see the shocking part. Are you just shocked at how beautiful Vietnam is?
Sapa is gorgeous, wow. I’m very jealous.

Yes, Vietnam is shockingly beautiful. I liked Ha Long Bay the most.

I’ve just come to this older post of yours through a link you gave on a newer one, Alex. What contrasting scenes. It’s not difficult to understand the fascination that Asia has for you, then.
