Jodhpur. I have felt in love with Jodhpur, its blue cityscape, its people, its food… its everything! The memories from this part of my Indian trip are popping up with clear sunny sky, colorful women’s outfits, smiling faces of people I have met, and holly cows resting in the middle of traffic :) Jodhpur was the highlight of my trip. It was the best pur of all purs I had to visit :) If I only knew how different it is from other cities (Pushkar, Jaipur, Agra, Delhi), I would stay in Jodhpur for longer.
Within a few months I am going to launch a new part of this website – Memographer’s Tips, where travelers will be able to share their travel experience. On that website I will provide you with the details on this and my other trips (places to visit, things to do and not to do, hotels, restaurants, guides, transportation, etc.). By the way, (I am jumping ahead already) the best meals I have tried in India were cooked in Jharokha Restaurant located on a roof top of Hotel Haveli. The photo of a cook is posted below ;)
Jodhpur is the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Its population: 1,410,000 (2011). The city is located 335 kilometres (208 mi) west from the state capital, Jaipur and 200 kilometres (124 mi) from the city of Ajmer. Jodhpur is set in the stark landscape of the Thar desert. The city is referred to as the Blue City due to the blue-painted houses around the Mehrangarh Fort. [Wikipedia]
