Notre-Dame de Paris, also known as Notre-Dame Cathedral or simply Notre-Dame, is a Catholic cathedral in Paris, France, built in the Gothic architectural style in 1345. Many small individually crafted statues are placed around the outside to serve as column supports and water spouts. Among these are the famous Gargoyles. A gargoyle is a carved stone grotesque, with a spout designed to convey water from a roof and away from the side of a building thereby preventing rainwater from running down masonry walls and eroding the mortar between.
To view cathedral’s gargoyles, as well as having a spectacular view across Paris, one has to reach the top of the Notre-Dame by climbing several spiral staircases.

Love all these pictures! We never made it to the top of Notre Dame Cathedral so we only saw the gargoyles from below. They look so menacing! You’ve inspired me to do the climb next time. Beautiful, postcard-worthy shots!
