Dedicated to my sister and her 50th Birthday.

A legend tells that Lisbon was born between seven hills. The São Jorge is the highest hill in town crowned by the Saint George Castle, where the village that originated Lisbon was founded. The other six hills: São Vicente, São Roque, Santo André, Santa Catarina, Chagas, and Sant’Ana. Each hill hosts iconic viewpoints of the beautiful city and attractions to visit. Here is a set of mobile photography images from the old town.

***Just FYI,

  • Lisbon is actually a city on eight hills, not seven.
  • Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and one of the oldest in Western Europe, predating other modern European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome by centuries.
  • The city is the 9th-most-visited city in Southern Europe, after Rome, Istanbul, Barcelona, Milan, Venice, Madrid, Florence and Athens, with 3,320,300 tourists in 2017.
