I must admit, I haven’t seen so many bronze statues per a square meter in any other city of the World. Here is a set of photographs of bronze statues taken in Minsk, Belarus during EuroTrip 2013. Also I’ve added a few unpublished shots from EuroTrip 2005.
This set starts with three photos of the monument located on Yakub Kolas square. The monument consists of five bronze statues. The center piece is a statue of Yakub Kolas, Belarusian folk poet. The other four statues represent characters from Kolas’ poems- “Symon-Musician and Hanna” and “Grandfather Talash and Panas”.

Love these. I especially like the little boy peeking and the photography (of course!).
Thanks, Corinne!
I’ve tried to capture this photo so it would look like the boy is peeking :)
The bronze boy is goofing in front of the street mirror. The reflection of barefoot girls resting their band-aided feet is just perfect timing ;)

Good show! Thanks for using B/W – really seems to bring out the lines of the sculptures and the handbag on the gate is fab – makes me feel as though the nude left it there just prior to disrobing and striking a pose.

Thanks, Maria! Yes, B/W works best with sculptures. However, I do post color versions sometimes too. Hint, you may wish to click on some B/W photos ;)
And you’ve just read my mind on a handbag photo. By the way, the handbag is not a prop. It was hanging there. Possibly, it belongs to the Nude ;)

These are wonderful statues! They make my imagination go wild… so I can see why/how they would make statues inspired by poetry!

Thanks, Colleen! I am glad you like these.
Hi, the pictures are nice, but why do you have written “from Russia with love” when in fact they’re taken in Belarus? They’re completely different countries…
Thank you for stopping by, Eline!
Answering your question, I publish illustrated books and put the titles of the books on the images here. “From Russia With Love” is the title of a photo book where the image is published. As in a title of famous James Bond film, “Russia” in the title of my book stands for “CCCP” and all countries of Soviet Union (not the Russian Federation). The photo book “From Russia With Love”, however, contains photographs from my trips to modern Russian Federation and Belarus. Please stay tuned. More photos from Belarus to come ;)

I’ve always wanted to go to Minsk but even more so now. I’m so fascinated by that part of the world.

You should definitely go to Minsk. It’s a very “European” city, Andrea.
