The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings at the Old Bangkok, Thailand, also known as Wat Phra Kaew or the Temple of Emerald Buddha, the symbol of the Thai state. Since the founding of Bangkok as the Nations capital by King Rama I, The Grand Palace has been the major architectural symbol of The Thai Royal Family. And I can see why.
I was blown away by the magnificent buildings of the Grand Palace. It’s hard to imagine how much labor had been invested in design and production of the architectural details of this complex. A gazillion custom glass, gold, ceramic, and wood fixtures is installed inside and outside the structures. Every little detail is a piece of art! I was amazed during the entire visit and kept my eyes (and lens) wide open.

Your angles always amaze me. The richness of the colour gold captured is outstanding. I have been to Bangkok twice and am yet to visit this location. I feel I now have inspiration. Thank you Alex :)
Thank YOU, Natasha :) So happy these photos inspired you!

me too ;)
WoW amazing photos. I agree with Maria I’m speechless. I also love the gold theme, great idea. Funny I was just writing a post about Bangkok (I visited a few years ago) and I had quite some difficulty picking good enough photos from all the ones I took while there and now I see these photos … “sigh”. I should go back to take some better photos :)

You are very kind, Freya!
There will always be the missed photo opportunity and photos we (photographers) would like to retake. However, going back to Bangkok is not a bad idea at all. I would love to come back one day!

Your colourful series shows off the wonders of the royal palace very well, Alex. I was amazed by it too, when I was there many years ago.

Thank you, Muza-chan! Glad you like it.
I have seen a lot of temples in my two years here in Asia, however I have to say that the ones in Bangkok are by far the prettiest. All that gold is amazing.
