The Inca Trail is the most famous trek in South America and is rated to be in the top 5 treks in the World. It combines beautiful mountain scenery, lush cloud-forest, subtropical jungle and incredible Inca ruins. The final destination of the trail is the mysterious Lost City of the Incas – Machu Picchu.
This is the second part of my photo chronicles from hiking Inca Trail. See the opening post here: Hiking Peru’s Inca Trail To Machu Picchu.

We never got to do the Inca Trail when we were in Peru so really liking your photo essays here. It made me realise what I’d missed out on :)

The experience depends on the weather, group, your health, etc. It was raining in the night and morning on my trek day. So in the morning I wasn’t happy at all. I am glad it’s stopped raining later :) So you never know…
I bet it’s an amazing feeling when you reach the sungate. I did the jungle trail instead, which was great fun, but I couldn’t help feeling I was missing out on something special.

Yes, Arianwen, it was amazing. Especially, reaching Sungate (Intipunku) after the hike of last “fifty steps” :) To give you an idea, here is somebody’s video on YouTube –

It will be posted on coming Sunday, Marisol. I hope you will not be disappointed.
By the way, there are few photos of Machu Picchu already posted on my Facebook wall. You should be able to see those. But, feel free to befriend me if you don’t ;)

Beautiful images from along the trail, Alex. As you know, we took the easy way out, and just went from Aguas Calientes to Machu Piccu only by train. I admire your stamina!

Thanks, Andrew! It wasn’t that difficult. Almost the same as by train ;)
