I announced the ‘Around Minsk’ photo series back in November… Sorry it took so long to get the images edited. Good news, I am ready to take you on a sightseeing tour that includes three dozen snaps I had taken while roaming the streets of the capital city of Belarus. For more photography, please see my other posts from EuroTrip 2013.
Today’s tour starts with the photo of The National Flag Square, a new square opened in Minsk one month prior to my arrival. It is a 100-meters (328-feet) circle with the 70-meter high (230-feet) steel flagpole in the center. The flag cloth is made of waterproof fabric that does not fade in the sun. Flag area is 98 square meters (1055 square feet), and weight – 25 kilograms (55 pounds). Along the perimeter of the square are the map of the Republic of Belarus, the text of the anthem, and coats of arms of Minsk and six other capital cities of the Regions (provinces) of Belarus.

Loving the Coca-Cola Black and White – you scored a vintage feel with the composition. :-D
