Copacabana is a neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil known for its world-famous bright sand beach and promenade lined with shops, bars, restaurants and hotels. The district got its name after the construction of a chapel holding a replica of the Virgen de Copacabana, the patron saint of Bolivia. Designed by Roberto Burle Marx, the Copacabana promenade is a 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) long pavement landscape. It was completed in 1970 and has used a black-and-white geometric wave Portuguese pavement design since its origin in the 1930s.
I had stayed in Copacabana during my ‘Dreaming of Rio’ trip to Rio de Janeiro and every single day I had been coming to the Beach for soaking up its breath-taking atmosphere.

Alex, it was fun scrolling down each of the photos. Each scene is enjoyable and very Rio. I think my favorite is the last one – that hot chick with a “Christ the Redeemer” bag. Really great capture. Without that bag, it may be just a scene from anywhere.
